All belonging to the previous owner of my Olds Aurora. Its clear he loved everything coming from across the pond. I finally managed to find his place on Streetview, the address I got wasn’t quite where Google believed it to be. I won’t post it here (don’t want random Opponauts knocking on his door all the time ;) ) but is quite an impressive number of cars hes got standing around in his driveway(s) and the street in front of his property. You can see on google maps that there are more in his back garden.
Its not just one make or type of vehicle either. Switching between the different dated versions of the streetview photos taken there (my Olds is only visible in the shots from 2012), he owns all kinds of trucks, vans and cars built by Ford, GM and Chrysler, all from the 80s and 90s.
Apparently hes now planning to reduce the size of his collection (Around 20 more or less roadworthy cars) starting with the stuff parked outside. I have no idea which vehicles hes interested in selling, but I have already set my eyes on two of my all time favorites, one of them being a very special car indeed.
Can you tell which and why? :)

Vlad’s Impalas. Nice, just need to update the optispark on those. Water is not friendly to the LT1.

Ze fast left Impala SS.
Strange fetish though.

Wow, a dustbuster van and a vintage Ram. Wholly unique almost anywhere over there.

Its hard tell from these images but one of them is not a normal Impala SS/Caprice. :)

Its actually the right one, even though its probably in worse condition. I don’t think the taillight covers are stock, but even without them its not your run-off-the-mill Impala.

You might be the right guy to ask this: I recently saw a Chevy-badged ca.1998 Aurora in central europe
Was this ever a thing?

It was an Oldsmobile Alero (2 sizes down the Aurora) that was sold in a few European countries including Germany as Chevrolet Alero for no apparent reason.

The one back here because it’s purple?

LT5 powered car?

As you say it, it sure was an Alero, thanks.
It was driven by a elderly gentleman and wore a quite large ‘an army of one’ on the rear bumper.
Seems like it that every modern US car in my area is driven by veterans of some sort (except Jeeps and Caravans, of course), there’s also a Ram with ‘iraq campain veteran’ attached to it and a Ford Maverick with another army sticker.

I like purple cars but that thing isnt on my list. If you believe streetview its been there since at least 2008.

Nope. You can only see it in this photo but this particular car seems to have Saudi Arabian/Kuwaiti license plates on it, which would most likely mean that it has been imported from there. That would make this a Middle East exclusive Caprice SS which was only sold there. Extremely rare, even in the states!

That Roadmaster though

Nope, they def aren’t stock. I thought it may have been a clone at first.

Wow. My car collection would literally look like that. There’s just something about 80s and 90s American cars that I love.

Yup, I just did a bit more research. You can find a photo in one of the comments above, its a Middle Eastern Caprice SS. There’s also a little badge on the back that says Collector’S Edition. I thought one of the owners stuck it on there, but apparently there actually was a collectors edition with this badge (and a few others) in the middle eastern market at the end of the Caprice’s production run, making this one of the very last Caprice (Impala) SS. I need to have it now lol!

I have the feeling that mine will look like that eventually...

Nothing wrong with that

Dustbuster vans were actually sold here. I saw 2 American cars today, both when I visited a viewing day for an online auction. The American cars weren’t auctioned, they were props. They were: a dustbuster van with NYPD decals and a Caprice of the vintage in Schaefft’s pictures. That Caprice had decals from the 2014 Carbagerun rally. I made no pictures, sadly, but the Caprice is in the background in these pictures form the auction.

How many houses does the guy own on the same street? Or does he rent driveways from neighbors that somehow don’t need them?
![]() 09/12/2015 at 17:41 |

No idea, it looks like hes using at least 3 driveways.

Something weird about those houses with those cars.
